The hidden advantage to our organization is that the elected charity receives our donation without spending a minute of their time or a nickel of their money fundraising!
Any member has the opportunity to drop her elected charity name in the hat at each meeting with the hopes of being one of three drawn to present it to the membership. Each of the three members has five minutes to convince us her charity is the one to receive our donation. We listen, we vote, and we each write a personal check for $100 to the charity receiving the most votes.
